From Ramadan to Mother’s Day to Eid Al-Fitr: A Smart Spending Plan
From Ramadan to Mother’s Day to Eid Al-Fitr: A Smart Spending Plan
In a very short period, we move through three back-to-back occasions:
Ramadan, Mother’s Day, and then Eid Al-Fitr.
Each one comes with its own expenses, commitments, and a lot of “just this once” moments.
The problem?
There’s only one salary.
And if it’s not distributed wisely, it runs out before the occasions do.
Why does this period drain your salary so quickly?
Because expenses don’t hit all at once.
They creep in quietly:
• Ramadan gatherings and invitations
• Household shopping
• A Mother’s Day gift
• Eid clothes
• Eid gifts and cash (Eidiyeh)
Each expense alone doesn’t seem “that big”…
but together? They add up fast.
Rule number one: Divide your salary before you spend it
The biggest mistake we make is spending first and planning later.
What works better?
Dividing your salary mentally (or practically) from day one:
• A portion for Ramadan and daily expenses
• A portion dedicated to Mother’s Day
• A portion for Eid
• And a small buffer for unexpected expenses
Even a simple division changes the way you spend.
Ramadan: Smart spending, not less spending
Being smart in Ramadan doesn’t mean depriving yourself.
It means knowing where your money goes.
Simple tips:
• Plan invitations instead of improvising
• Buy based on need, not offers
• Watch small, repeated expenses. They add up the most!
Mother’s Day: Value isn’t about the price
A meaningful Mother’s Day gift doesn’t have to be expensive.
Sometimes:
• A thoughtful, simple gift
• An experience
• Or something she genuinely needs
can mean much more than a pricey gift with no meaning.
The key is to include it in your plan, not treat it as a budget-breaking “surprise.”
Eid Al-Fitr: Prepare early
Eid expenses are predictable: clothes, outings, and Eid gifts.
Instead of leaving everything to the last minute:
• Set aside a small amount from the beginning of the month
• Don’t wait until the final week
• Define a clear limit for Eidiyeh
That way, you enjoy Eid without stressing after it.
In summary: Your salary can’t cover everything, but it can cover what matters
Between Ramadan, Mother’s Day, and Eid, you don’t need to spend on everything.
You need to:
• Choose
• Balance
• And enjoy without putting financial pressure on yourself
A smart plan doesn’t stop you from celebrating.
It helps you celebrate with peace of mind.
